There are too many interesting sights around Naxos Town to fit into one post, so here are some more views and details we’ve stumbled across since this previous post.
Just below our rental apartment is the Zoodochos Pigi Holy Orthodox Metropolitan Church, which seems to be very busy, including for Saturday weddings. Adjacent to this is the Metropolis On-Site Museum, where we were able to walk around on raised platforms to look at archaeological finds excavated at the site. Finds unearthed include a Mycenaean pottery workshop, a tomb, and some residential buildings from the Roman era. The facility is a bit run-down, but it’s free to visit.
